Stober Beautification

Position Open - We are currently looking for a new chair or co-chair for this position!  Please contact our Co-Presidents for information.

Thanks to everyone who helped with Stober Beautification for the 2013/14 school year!  We made great progress at our August and May workdays as well as in smaller groups in between:
 
Flower bed by marquis sign - weeded, trimmed bushes, planted new flowers
 
Flower bed between 2 pine trees on east end of Hug 'n Go loop - weeded, planted new flowers
 
Dirt hill on north side of Hug 'n Go loop - planted ornamental grass and new flowers
 
Area under pine trees by Kindergarten temp - planted new flowers
 
Path between flower bed and bike rack - removed bricks and dirt to level path, laid weedblock, set pavers and rock to fill in
 
A big thanks to Jensen's Flower and Garden for donating ~250 flowers, and don't forget to check out our fantastic volunteers, donors and Beautification Wish List below!

Beautification Wish List
 
The list below includes Beautification projects and/or materials parents and staff members have suggested.  If you are interested in tackling one of the projects below or purchasing an item to address a need, please e-mail Carlye Gordon to discuss details.  While there will routinely be fall and spring Beautification Days, most projects can be started independently.

07 Flower bed by marquis sign Flower bed needs to be weeded Weed flower bed and add new mulch to slow future weed growth (determine whether to add weedblock after weeding)

01 Trees between bus lane and half wall Trees have numerous suckers, rocks look unkempt, weeds need to be pulled Replace weed block, lay rocks to cover evenly/add more if necessary, remove suckers so only main tree trunk remains, trim tree as necessary, maintain seasonally  
04 Dirt patch with bike rack under tree at west end of courtyard Gets muddy, unattractive Remove dirt, level ground, lay weedblock, add rocks or crushed fines, add a couple of raised planters and benches for seating in the shade
